Festival Launch & Haringey Independent Cinema screening of 'The Promise'

Launch of Tottenham Palestine Literature Festival & screening of the fourth and final episode of The Promise in conjunction with Haringey Independent Cinema. www.haringey.org.uk/hic.  Film followed by Q & A with Professor Haim Bresheeth.  Refreshments available.

On Saturday October 1, the first three episodes of The Promise will be screened  and at 7pm director and writer, Peter Kosminsky will join Professor Haim Bresheeth for a Q & A to talk about the making of the TV drama.

Journey Through Thorns performed by the Palestine Trauma Centre (Gaza)

Journey through Thorns is a dramatic presentation of a personal story of courage, vision and hope. It follows the early life of Mohamed Altawil, who was born in a refugee camp in Gaza and of the dramatic rescue of his family when the wall was smashed down by the Gazan people in 2008.

Journey through Thorns is written and presented by Mohamed, and his friends David Harrold and Sylvia Pepper.

Wildcat Arts Collective

The Wildcat Arts Collectives in collaboration with Haringey Justice for Palestinians present a mixture of film, story telling with Roisin Murray, kite making and graffiti art aimed at children and young people, 5 - 12 years.

British Writers in Support of Palestine (BWISP) chair a stimulating discussion on the role of the writer to bring about political change. Participating writers include poet and co-ordinator of BWISP Naomi Foyle, Ghada Karmi (Palestinian academic and writer), China Mieville (fiction writer), James Miller (fiction writer) and Ewa Jasiewizc (journalist).
